A Rainbow of Violets and the Butterflies that need them

Photos of the Butterflies are by Jaret C. Daniels
The Top Butterfly is the Great Spangled Fritillary and the second one is the Silver-bordered Fritillary. Both of these beautiful Butterflies use violets as their larval host plants!
So plant some violets or just dig them out of the lawn and plant them back in the garden like I do. The butterflies will thank you!

Some Candy Corn and other Wips

It's not easy to get things finished. I have so much going on at one time. I'm finishing up the Black Cats and Acorns and now Candy Corns. The little Halloween faces are for some new ornaments I'm working on. My youngest has some sort of high fever flu bug and he just wants me. Maybe this weekend I can finish. So I'm off to take care of my little one. I sure would love a nap today we had a rough night. More coffee please!

My boys and the nice weather have kept me from getting things done. I hope to have all the Halloween ornaments sets listed soon. Until then I'm going to play in the yard before it turns cold again. Wishing everyone a really wonderful weekend!

Black Cats

I'm busy doing sets of my favorite Halloween characters. Black cats love them and not just for Halloween! I'm a cat person and once had 7 of them. How did the Black Cat become associated with Halloween? According to folklore every Witch had one or could shape shift into one. Black cats crossing your path is supposed to bring bad luck. Here where I live I know that some older farm houses used to bury a black cat under the front porch for good luck. For me they have always brought good luck and we still have them showing up at our door.
