Holiday Inspiration

I was in need of some holiday inspiration. My mother is a teacher so her basement is the perfect place to look for holiday treasures. I didn't have to look to long to find these die-cuts. The set of snowmen are Hallmark 70's or 80's I'm not sure. I have no idea about the others. I know people use Halloween die-cuts still I'm not so sure about Christmas unless you're having a party.
The holly on the snowgirl's hat is the inspiration for an ornament I'm going to make. It will be a holly leaf with a happy face.
So how do you get in this holiday mood? Whatever the holiday you choose to celebrate this season?

Great idea! I've been wanting to capture my grandmother's Laplander upbringing by looking at their colorful fabrics. They patterns remind me of winter sweaters and Christmas. Your idea to get inspired inspired me! Thanks!

Hi Becca! I usually get inspired by cruising around on google image. I type in some like "elves" and 5,000 images pop up. LOL! Something usually strikes me, like a facial feature, or an outfit. Sometimes I work the other way and google "vintage fabrics" and I see what pops up. Or "dolls". I think I do it this way because I can be home, getting the morning started and trying to come up with ideas at the same time. :) xox Pam

I remember sitting at the kitchen table when I was in grade school, drawing the snowmen and other images on our Christmas cards. I love looking at the now vintage cards on ebay, and last year, bought a disk that is full of 50's images. Lo and behold, there were some snowmen on there that I remember drawing! And they're still as cute as ever.

Your Holly will be adorable, just as the rest of your collection has been! "Are you done yet?" lol

Suzie I love that. I do have a couple vintage halloween disks. I like the 50's, 60's and 70's vintage christmas. I'll have to get on of those cd's. You know I think I have a victorian one. I'm going to go look in my mess now for it! Thanks for the reminder! :) No I'm not done!lol! I have several orders oh the pressure! Next year I'll try and work ahead of the game! When I make ornaments I make one at a time.I think I need to make several of the same at the same time. I get bored easily.
