Mama Turtle and Tree Frog

This time of the year is quite magical around our house. The mama turtles come up from our creepy pond to lay their eggs in my garden. This one found it's way on to our deck. We are expected to get a frost tonight so this might be the last tree frog I see.

That is just to cool. Do you ever get to see the little turtles hatching? I think the tree frogs are to cute. They seem to like the inside of my Jeep though. Keep up posted on the mama turtle. How exciting!

Is that algae/moss growing on the turtle's back? How interesting. I love these photos! :o)

I remember my first time taking my hubby and son to West Virginia to visit my family. It was hilarious. My son found a turtle and said "mommy, this toy is moving." He was out in the yard with a bunch of toys my mom had gotten for him to play with. I explained to him it was a turtle and he said "and they just walk around here with no pen?" It was adorable. Then, at night the tree frogs started croaking rhythmically and my hubby said, "what the hell is that?" I had to laugh. We sometimes get screaming locusts during monsoon season in the SW, but he'd never heard tree frogs. To me, it's the sound of the night. Wish the little guy good luck and hope he hides out before the frost. Cute pics!

That's a cute story Autumn! You guys would love the spring peepers then. They are super loud in the spring.

Becca - we get those little tree frogs on our windows, too! I haven't seen one for a couple of weeks, I guess it's getting a little cool for them. That turtle is ADORABLE!!! I have always loved turtles. Thanks for the grins! :)
