More Chenille Feather Tree Ornaments

Hi friends! I just wanted to share a few little chenille ornaments I whipped up. I like the Sourpuss Grinch the best. You know the type they want to ruin the holidays. Always stirring up trouble stealing all the fun. This one got a hold of the tree. Naughty Sourpuss!
For those of you wondering I am not sure about the fate of my blog. I have had some issue here in blogland. If you are like me and you have a blog you want followers and friends to visit you. I think of my blog as my website. I enjoy posting my newest creations and a blogging in general. For now I will continue here. When I know more I will share with you. Wishing you all a wonderful and creative week!

Let's Make Some Noise

A Spooky Witch Clicker
Amazing graphics

Blow your horn!

Shake it up!
A Ratchet

Another Clicker
A Banger and Owl Click

Most of these amazing tin litho noisemakers are from the 1950's. Many are made my US Metal and were made in the USA. I think it would be great if these were once again manufactured. I think the clicker style would be perfect for the tricker treaters!

Owl Be Watching You

Owls have long been associated with magic and Halloween. They happen to be one of my favorite night creatures and not just at Halloween. Here is some fascinating owl folklore.

~ Known as night hags
~ Believed to be shape shifted Witches
~ Roman name for owl is strix meaning Witch
~ Sacred to Hecate, Athena, Minerva
~Blodeuweddd the owl Goddess of Autumn and the changing seasons becomes the winter hag
~ Wearing owl jewelry or amulets brings good luck
~ Call can be a harbinger of death
~ A symbol of Wisdom

Glow in the Dark Halloween Graphics

I found this glow in the dark sticker sheet stuck to an old Dynamite Magazine. I tried to rescue the sheet by steaming it off. That didn't work so I thought I'd leave well enough alone. The copyright is 1977 Scholastic. I love the graphics and the combination of orange and aqua. They still glow in the dark when charged. I'm a fan of all that glows in the dark. I'm considering adding some glow to a ghost I'm working on. I also have some candy corn, cats and one creepy clown in the works.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend too!

Oliver Owl Ornament

I just finished Oliver. I don't have him listed anywhere yet he is going on a road trip down to North Carolina. He may not come back but if he does I'll let you know where he'll be.
Owls I love them don't you! They have been associated with mystery and magic since ancient times. A nocturnal bird of prey who's eerie screech could be mistaken for a scream! No wonder they fit perfectly into Autumnal and Halloween decor. Owls often known as a Witches Familiar. It was also thought that a Witch could shape shift into an Owl. Hecate the Witch Goddess and Athena the Goddess of Wisdom both had Owls as their familiars. During dusk known as witching time the death of the day is called Owl Light. During this time a Witch can be transported into the other world. I just thought this was fun info!

Spooky Tree with Ghost Ornaments & Black Cat & extras

I finished the Tree. He comes with 5 ghostie ornaments and a mini black cat tree topper. I think I'll include the jol's too. The mini owl and the acorn container are extras I give with purchases. It's always nice to get a surprise when you buy something. :) Spooky Tree & ghost ornaments are now in my etsy shop.

Trying to finish

Here's an update on the WIPs. The spooky tree, witch, & owl are almost done. Big JOL has a ways to go. I wanted to make 10 giant pumpkins for my kitchen I may not have time we'll see. Kids are back to school today so I only have one at home. It's quiet here hard to get used too! Have a great day everyone!

New WIP's Owl, Witch and JOL

Here's what I've been working on. The Witch is taking longer than I thought. Her hair soaks up paint like you wouldn't believe. I was going to mount her on a spindle but her head is too big. The Jol box is almost done and I hope to post his happiness on ebay later today. Lastly, I'm happy with the way Mr. Owl is coming along. He's about 7 1/2 inches high. He's holding two Jol buckets one grumpy and one happy. I love Owls! If he doesn't find a Happy Halloween home I've got the perfect place for him! Have a Spooky Day everyone! :) Becca
