The Art of Arthur Rackham

Arthur Rackham (1867-1939) was a popular artist and illustrator in his time. This English man was known for his magical works that had a slightly dark quality to them. He illustrated such classics as Brothers Grimm and Aesop's Fables. I love his Witches and black cats! Just Magical!

Arthur Rackham is one of my favorite artists! His work and Edmund Dulac's are all over my house. I even have a piece that was signed by him. I'm so glad you did a post on him!

I love his work! He truly captures the 'wildness' of so many fairy tales and the spookiness of Halloween. :0)

Such charmingly fantastical art he created, still inspires me. I must pull out one of my books illustrated by him today and refresh my memory of his work. Thanks for the reminder.
